Byron Mikaloff – Senior Scholarship Winner 1994.
Byron started his career in British Columbia with an interest in classical guitar (winning the Royal Conservatory of Toronto's first prize in their national guitar examination), while also touring with the Caledonia Jazz Band, playing everything from Glenn Miller to Pat Metheny, all the while teaching at the Terrace Little Theatre company.
In the early 90s, Byron headed east and set up shop in Québec City and began scholarship studies at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec where he performed in master classes with internationally known guitarists David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, David Tannenbaum, Elliott Fisk and Remi Boucher.
Byron's mastery of his instrument in many styles has won him awards all the way from traditional classical guitar competitions through to his June 1996 "Lick of the Month" recognition from famed American "Guitar Magazine."
Byron has been involved in bands as well as many projects.
